"Life always offers you a second chance"
Clear Skies Ranch assists people recovering from addiction with their integration back into society through teaching work skills and self-sufficiency in a sober living environment . We also rescue animals who we train to be therapy animals and provide forever homes, with our house members.
We were founded in 2013 by Gabrielle Melville and currently have two homes in the West San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles. We hope to soon expand to a ranch facility with rescued animals.
Our vision is to help the people of our community who have either been incarcerated for drug related crimes, or have been through a rehabilitation program for drugs and alcohol. We do this by giving them a safe, sober-living home with a structured working environment along with workshops to help them integrate back into the workforce. We also focus on social activities and skills to bring joy and purpose back to their lives in order for them to move forward and become a positive, happy member of the community and their own families. We also offer support groups.
Through our infrastructure we will offer the support that our residents need to tackle the many obstacles they face while reestablishing themselves in the community.
In order to create these transformations, we will be enlisting other needy parts of our community; the rescue animals. Our hope is to have one rescue horse per resident and one old rescue dog per resident, to experience the unconditional love that animals provide whilst learning responsibility, reliability and skills. Also to encourage a sense of continued responsibility, when a resident leaves our ranch, they may take their dog with them once they have established permanent housing and employment.
We serve previously incarcerated men who have been through a rehabilitation program, people looking for sober-living that need help, people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, Veterans and anyone who needs what we offer. Our target animals will be any rescue horses, Also the dogs in most need of rescuing from the Los Angeles Animal Shelters that are "adoptable challenged"
Our homes are truly sober and we offer all the support our house members need to move forward and begin living life in a fun, positive way.
